At the congregational meeting on Sunday, November 8, 2009, we approved a five-year Strategic Plan for Community Unitarian Universalist Church of Plano. This plan represents the work of two planning teams over a period of three years. In 2007, the "DreamCatchers" team began the work of surveying the congregation, and in May, 2008, gave us our Mission Statement. The Phase 2 team undertook the task of creating the Vision Statement (approved in May, 2009) and the Strategic Plan, a framework for action for the next five years.
The plan includes four sections with corresponding goals:
Developing community - To support one another in spiritual growth while developing and celebrating our church community.
Developing individuals - To cultivate the whole person by providing multi-generational opportunities for individual and group spiritual development.
Transforming the Church - To have a facility and organization that supports our goals as a church community.
Changing the World - To make a significant contribution to the world beyond the walls of our church.
