Little Free Libraries
Thanks to the extraordinary efforts of Jay and Sam Hall we are pleased to announce that both Little Free Libraries have now been installed on the church grounds and stocked with an initial supply of books. Thanks to the Odds & Ends group on a hot, humid Saturday to get the Main LFL installed. If you have any favorite books you are willing to use to grow our "Take a Book, Return a Book" project, please bring them to church on Sunday.
The Main LFL, located in the parking lot, has separate shelves for adult, young adult, and children's books (which needs many more donations).
The theme of the Garden LFL is beekeeping, gardening, nature, camping, health, and outdoor topics in general. We have customized book plates available for you in both LFLs in which to write a short note on why you recommend the books you donate.
The sign for the Main LFL has been ordered and both libraries should be on the web site in the next two to three weeks at www.littlefreelibrary.org .
Now, who wants to help make a short video and enter it in the Little Free Library Film Festival? Entries are due by June 21st. See more at www.littlefreelibrary.org/little-free-library-film-festival.html .
Many thanks to Dawn Graham for introducing the subject at last year's Book Sunday, Gary Sharpsteen for providing discounted cabinets from the ReStore® to house the books, Sally West for donating shingles, the staff at Home Depot® and Lowes® who helped Sam and Jay find just the right tools and materials, and all the members of the congregation who offered encouragement on Facebook® during the construction.
