Community UU Church is growing! In fact, we have increased our membership by one-third in the past two years, with many of the additions young families with children. Religious Education enrollment has grown from 60 children to over 110, necessitating the construction of two additional classrooms. This is a good “problem.” Young families are both the present and the future of our church. To meet the needs of these families, several members created “Friends and Families”, a group dedicated to providing activities for parents and children. Here are a few that are being considered:

• A walk in the park at Arbor Hills
• Chasing Butterflies at the State Fair
• Riding Ponies at the Dallas Zoo
• Driving Go-Carts at Adventure Landing
• Petting Kittens at the Animal Shelter
• Riding Elephants at the Renaissance Faire
• Feeding Goats at the Pumpkin Patch
• Dancing to Music at the Concert in the Park
• Digging for Fossils at Bob Woodruff Park
• Gazing at the stars at Frisco Park

It’s refreshing to find so many activities that are “budget-friendly” and fun for all.
